The American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology offers a number of awards to eligible fellows, residents and medical students who submit an abstract and manuscript to the Program Committee for review. The eligible fellow, resident or medical student must be the first and presenting author of the manuscript.

The Charles F. Ferguson Clinical Research Awards (First, Second and Third Prize) are presented to the three best clinical  research papers. The William P. Potsic Basic Science Awards (First, Second and Third Prize) are presented to the three best basic science research papers. The next three highest scoring submitted manuscripts (either clinical or basic science) are awarded ASPO Travel Grants to assist with travel expenses to the ASPO annual meeting.  In addition, posters presented at the annual meeting are eligible for nine ASPO Poster Awards in the categories of:

  • Clinical Research (First, Second and Third Prize)
  • Basic Science (First, Second and Third Prize)
  • Case Reports (First, Second and Third Prize)

All presenters are eligible for the ASPO Poster Awards. Authors should note that all submitted abstracts must be accompanied by full disclosure of all financial relationships with any commercial interests of the presenting author and all co-authors as dictated by the American College of Surgeons.

The Archives of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery is the official journal of the American Society of Pediatric Otolaryngology. As such, it is required that all manuscripts of presented abstracts (podium and poster) be submitted to Archives  in consideration of publication.

If selected for podium presentation, the presenting author will be required to verbally disclose any conflict of interests at the start of their presentation (preferably with a slide).
