A 4 year old boy was eating sunflower seeds when he began coughing and spit them out. He was taken to the Emergency Room where he was noted to be in moderately severe respiratory distress. He complained of sore throat and pain in his lateral left neck. Inspiratory and expiratory stridor and subcostal retractions were observed. He was aphonic but could whisper.
