Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery is recruiting a fellowship trained academic Pediatric Otolaryngologist. Candidates must demonstrate a keen interest in otolaryngology resident education, clinical research and patient care. This is an excellent opportunity to develop a clinical practice and research program in the expanding Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery as the division chief of Pediatric Otolaryngology. There are no fellowship trained pediatric otolaryngologists in the entire Ark-La-Tex region and there are two children's hospitals in Shreveport, thus this position is poised for rapid growth. The chief of pediatric otolaryngology will join LSU at a particularly exciting time in the School of Medicine's history. The institution has recently appointed a new Chancellor and Dean, Robert A. Barish, MD, MBA. The Shreveport-Bossier area is a rapidly growing, booming cosmopolitan city with a sophisticated medical community. LSUHSC-Shreveport is a thriving and expanding academic center for clinical and research activities and is one of 2 state academic health sciences centers in Louisiana. The contemporary complex houses three health professional schools Schools of Medicine, Graduate Studies, and Allied Health, the 480 bed University Hospitals, outpatient clinic facilities and the Feist-Weiller Cancer Center. |
